April 16th, 2003 Thanks to Anyonomous for this submission Several years ago I went to the Dayton airport to await the arrival of some old Marine buddies. The flight was delayed however due to weather (It was raining and storming to beat the band). Anyway, I went to one of the eateries and sat down at the bar. Maybe twenty minutes later two girls came in and the only thing I really noticed was how tall one was. The short girl came up and started talking to me about my dress uniform. The other one as you may have guessed was Katie Holmes, though I didn't realize it for a while. She sat at the far end of the bar over in the shadows while her friend(?) chatted me up. Finally the girl dragged Katie over. After she politely introduced herself I started to laugh - to tell you the truth I think I embarrassed her. I hastily apologized and explained that my sister was and still is a huge Dawson's Creek fan. She tepidly smiled and signed a napkin for my sis. The note included how lucky my sister is that I would get her an autograph. We talked (her friend and me that is) for at least another twenty minutes while Katie quietly sat and listened. She didn't say much and frankly I don't know if she's just shy or what. I really don't care but my sister insisted on my sending you this story so here it is.
